Letter from the President of FM Pop Warner
Dear FM Community Member,
I am contacting you on behalf of the Fayetteville-Manlius Youth Football Association. FMYFA supports both youth football and youth cheerleading programs, with over 140 participants ranging from age 5 through 14.
As President and a parent of three youth football players, our number one concern is player safety. The FMYFA program operates under National Pop Warner rules and guidelines. Each coach must be certified with concussion training and Heads up Football training for technique and fundamentals.
FMYFA is a non-for profit organization. The money we raise annually goes towards items such as association fees, insurances, and field rentals. Additionally, any monies raised beyond our operating expenses are invested to enhance the athletes experience with the program. Previous years donations have allowed FMYFA the ability to purchase field equipment such as blocking sleds, agility bags, and arm shields. Most recently, donations have translated into player safety measures including new state-of-the-art helmets, and shoulder pads. As a trusted Association, we ensure player safety and have also purchased Guardian helmet covers and flag helmets. For our cheer program your donations have allowed them to compete in national and regional events. Without your help this would not be possible.
Through this offseason, we continue to phase-in new helmets and safety equipment. We continue to recondition of all our remaining football helmets each year which is a costly, but essential endeavor. We have recently purchased new uniforms for both our registered football teams and 2 registered cheerleading squads. With continued growing numbers, we will be ordering new sets of uniforms. The average cost of the uniforms approaches $90 per child.
With your generosity, we will continue to support and provide a positive experience both on and off the field and in and out of the classroom. With your donation, we will provide advertising for you at all home games, on our website and other social media outlets reaching numerous families throughout Fayetteville, Manlius, Jamesville & Dewitt areas.
